Rhinestones are like little crystals that you can arrange on a garment to add sparkle in a custom pattern, but custom spangles are little bit different. Rhinestones are raised on the surface so you can feel each stone as you run your hand across the design, but custom spangles are flush to the surface instead. Each spangle is circular just like a rhinestone but they are flat so that when you run your hand over it you won’t feel all the bumps.

Essentially spangles are circular cut vinyl that can be heat pressed to a garment so the color is dependent on what type of vinyl you use.
