Discharge Printing Method

Have you heard of the discharge printing method for decorating garments before?  If you haven’t, I imagine it must sound like quite an odd way to print!  The reason behind where the discharge printing method gets its name from is the discharge agent that is present in the ink.  You see, the only difference between water based ink printing and discharge printing is that the discharge agent is added to the water based ink!  Now all this talk about discharge printing, but what does that really mean?

The discharge printing method is meant to remove the existing color from the fabric, thus discharging it, so that you can replace it with your desired color.  Why would you want to print this way?  There’s a bunch of reasons why some garment designers prefer to use the discharge printing method!  One of the top reasons is how soft the prints turn out.  Water based inks leave behind amazingly soft prints unlike the industry standard plastisol inks because they contain a liquid solvent, typically water.  Since discharge and water based inks are so fluid, you can print over seams in a garment which makes them great at all over printing!

So for flowy and lightweight clothing, don’t weigh them down with heavy plastisol prints, use the discharge printing method instead and watch how your customers ‘ooh and aah’ over how soft and flexible your custom prints are!  It’s easy to get started if you come to us at AMBRO Manufacturing.  We are a contract screen printing, sublimation and embroidery company with everything you need for top quality printing.  We offer discharge printing alongside many other garment decoration methods that you can select from as well.  If you would like to place an order, or if you would like to find out more about us and our services, you can contact us by email or by calling at (908) 806-8337.

Sublimation Printing on Flags

Have you ever heard of sublimation printing before?  It’s a method of printing that has been adapted to printing on fabric surfaces.  It doesn’t apply layers of colored inks like screen printing would, but instead the entire image is transferred in one motion.  A sublimation printer is used to print out specialized dye onto a sheet of heat resistant paper.  The print out is placed onto the fabric to be printed and both are put into a sublimation press.  The press applies high heat and pressure over a short period of time which causes the dye on the paper to be released as a gas and absorbed by the material below.  If you already knew about this style of printing, did you know that it can be used for other goods besides wearable garments?  Just as an example, sublimation printing on flags as an option you may want explore.

Sublimation Printing on Flags

At AMBRO Manufacturing, we have the capability of sublimation printing on flags for your very own custom flag projects.  Our sublimation printer and press are large enough to create artwork that is 60” by 42” which is plenty for your custom flags.  Since sublimation printing infuses the very fibers of the material, the print is locked in for the lifetime of your flag.  Flags are exposed to the elements daily and thusly will need a print that can weather the abuse.  Sublimation prints are guaranteed to not crack or peel like other printing methods would under the same conditions.

So if you think you might be interested in custom sublimation printing on flags, come check us out.  You can see how easy it is to create top quality custom goods with us.  You can contact AMBRO Manufacturing to place an order, or to find out more about us, by email or by calling us at (908) 806-8337.
