The shirt must be white and 100% polyester. This is like painting on a wall where you need a white primer or painting on a white canvas, the colors will pop and be bright. The image you choose to use on the shirt must be high resolution and a large size so that when scaled to the actual area of the shirt it will not be blurry or pixelated. Once we have the shirt and the image you want to use, we then print it on a special transfer paper that when it gets heat pressed onto the shirt it turns into a vapor and will get dyed into the fabric of the shirt, much like tie dying is done.

Sublimation Printing on Flags

Have you ever heard of sublimation printing before?  It’s a method of printing that has been adapted to printing on fabric surfaces.  It doesn’t apply layers of colored inks like screen printing would, but instead the entire image is transferred in one motion.  A sublimation printer is used to print out specialized dye onto a sheet of heat resistant paper.  The print out is placed onto the fabric to be printed and both are put into a sublimation press.  The press applies high heat and pressure over a short period of time which causes the dye on the paper to be released as a gas and absorbed by the material below.  If you already knew about this style of printing, did you know that it can be used for other goods besides wearable garments?  Just as an example, sublimation printing on flags as an option you may want explore.
