As long as screen printing has been around, the techniques are constantly changing. The use of inks also changes with texture and consistency. In some cases you will see a shirt that has a very thin ink on it, almost like if the shirt did not get printed. In those scenarios it was using water ink printing.

Water ink printing is a bit more complex than the normal plastisol printing. Every color that we have has to be mixed with a formula to get the color in ink form.

There are two types of water ink printing that can be done; acrylic and discharge. Discharge is a type of water ink printing. Using this method, we would actually bleach out the design on the shirt. This works well on dark colors only. Acrylic ink is the type of water based ink that we use. Both ways of printing will use produce a very light feel to the ink on the shirt.
