Jumbo Screen Printing

One of the most popular requests that we receive is for Jumbo Screen Printing. This type of screen printing is versatile and can be used for: Blankets, Bandanas, Towels and T-Shirts.

Most screen printing facilities can print in the large ranges of 14” x 16” and 18” x 22”. Unfortunately neither of these print sizes can produce a large enough print to cover a reasonable design area on Blankets, Bandanas, Towels or T-Shirts.

There are few screen printers in the United States that are capable of screen printing in the Jumbo range. Jumbo is considered 32” x 32” and above. At 32” one begins to have the ability to screen print all over the surface area of a t-shirt.

It was once thought that dye sublimation would eliminate the need for “old school” jumbo screen printing. However, that idea never came to pass.

The issue with dye sublimation is that the base garment has to be polyester and begin white. It is impossible to produce a consistent design on existing garments without leaving blank space and crease marks. In addition, not every customer wants to have polyester as the base fabric.

Screen Printing in New Jersey

AMBRO Manufacturing offers Screen Printing in New Jersey. With 30+ years in business and in our 3rd family generation of operation, we know screen printing. In addition to screen printing, we offer embroidery and knitting.

Choosing a good screen printer is not an easy task. Screen printers typically fall into one of three categories. Category one includes what I like to call “Mega Screen Printers”, these printers are massive. They print hundreds of thousands of items each month. If you need a few hundred thousand pieces, then they are a great choice. But if you need only a few dozen, hundred or thousand, then it’s unlikely that any of these mega printers will return your calls.

The next category is what I call “The Garage Shop”. These printers often work out of their basement, garage or small retail space. While you can find many good quality printers in this category, it’s truly a hit or miss. Often, the level of service that you will get from one of these printers depends highly on what they have in their shop the week that you need something. As a one man or one woman shop, the proprietor is often the Jack or Jill of all trades. This means that the person that answers the phone, does the paperwork, prints the products, QC check the products and delivers them, is the same person. While that can be awesome, it also means that they have limited capacity. Risks with working with this type of organization are high.

The final and most rare category is the mid-level provider. Mid-level providers are big enough to produce hundreds or thousands but not so big that they won’t take your order for 12 pieces. These mid-level companies have the resources that you need to get your job completed in a quality manner and in a short period of time.
